Michigan Eye Care Specialists doctors and staff work hard to ensure that all patients are treated with the best care possible, in a professional, friendly and courteous fashion. An important part of this mission is to work closely with area doctors - from family practitioners to pediatricians and from ophthalmologists to internists - to offer the best care when it concerns a patient's eye care. This means treating referrals - both urgent and non-emergency - with the utmost expediency and efficiency.

Physician Referral Line:

Our commitment to the medical community is evident through our dedicated PHYSICIAN REFERRAL Line -- 333-EYES (3937), and is our way of making the referral process for all physicians a successful one.

When you call the PHYSICIAN REFERRAL LINE, you will notice that the call is answered by a staff person, not an automated system, who begins the referral process immediately.

We try to make the referral process as simple and effective as possible:

Non-emergency referrals: completed referral forms can be faxed over, 332-3365, for our staff to handle; unless otherwise noted, our staff calls the patient directly to schedule a visit to the appropriate doctor.

Emergency referrals: the referring physician, or staff, should call the referrals line, where a staff person will handle the call and referral immediately, scheduling the patient with the appropriate doctor that same day.

Because we value our relationship with area doctors, we welcome comments about our referral process. Every effort is made to treat all referring doctors and patients with one goal in mind: providing the best eye care and vision health services, while practicing an all-important personal touch. We feel strongly that patients seen at Michigan Eye Care Specialists will feel confident that they have received quality eye care from our friendly, courteous and professional clerical and clinical staff, and our board-certified medical team.
